Petros Isaakidis was born in Greece and trained as a physician and epidemiologist, work that has taken him to Kenya, Gaza and the West Bank, Cambodia, India, Thailand, South Africa, and elsewhere. Alongside the scientific publishing, he holds a Master of Arts in Creative Writing (with distinction) from the University of Cape Town, and his poetry and prose, in English and Greek, have appeared in Anti-Heroin Chic, Ariel Chart, Stachtes, Chartis, Thraca, Planodion – Bonsai Stories, The New Contrast, Eunoia Review, Stanzas, New Coin, and Autumn Sky Poetry DAILY, among others. He is a member of the Red Wheelbarrow Poetry Collective in Cape Town. His flash fiction has been anthologized, including in In Other Stories (Karavan Press, 2025).
His bilingual poetry collection, volcanoed / ηφαιστειωθείς, was shortlisted for the Thraca Award in 2024, published in 2025 by Thraca/Botsotso, and named runner-up in the 2026 Αναγνώστης Literary Awards.
He lives in Cape Town.
Ο Πέτρος Ισαακίδης γεννήθηκε στην Ελλάδα και εκπαιδεύτηκε ως ιατρός και επιδημιολόγος, δουλειά που τον οδήγησε στην Κένυα, τη Γάζα και τη Δυτική Όχθη, την Καμπότζη, την Ινδία, την Ταϊλάνδη, τη Νότια Αφρική, και αλλού.
